About Wiregrass Montage

What is now Wiregrass Montage began in 2003 as a cottage business out of my home in Dothan, Alabama providing photo montages for several funeral homes in the south-eastern Alabama area. It soon became apparent that I supplied a much-needed product not only for funeral homes but for other events. I believed that I could provide a more personalized service than say a business that offered photo montages or slideshows in addition to other sales and services. Because my services are uniquely targeted, I feel I can offer a quality photo montage or film conversion with more attention tailored to each customer's needs. I have received many testimonials to my work and they are by far the most rewarding part of this business.

I am a retired Address Management Systems Specialist for the United States Postal Service, a decorated Vietnam veteran, and a Certified Novell® Engineer. I became interested in creating videos on dvd when in 2001, my nephew unexpectedly died and I provided a video on his life for the funeral home. The funeral director loved my work and I saw an opportunity to make my retirement years more productive.

At this time, I also began experimenting with different methods of transferring all my father's super-8mm home movies to a more useful media format. Today, I use a state-of-the-art, frame-by-frame telecine capture device. I enhance my film conversions with a broadcast-quality non-linear editor (NLE) to provide my customers with what I believe is the best enhanced transfer available at any price.

In 2008, I decided to expand my business and posted this web site. Over the years, I have accumulated an enormous amount of stock film footage, graphics, special effects, royalty-free music, and video editing hardware and software all geared toward improving the quality of each photo montage, videotape transfer and film conversion video that I create.
